One SIM, Three US Carriers, Switched Remotely Under SGP.32

Granite's SIM360 preloads carrier-direct profiles from all three US Tier 1 networks on a single physical SIM, with remote switching and automated failover — and no roaming in the middle.

Granite Telecommunications launched SIM360 on 15 September: one physical SIM, preloaded with carrier-direct profiles from all three US Tier 1 wireless networks, built on the GSMA SGP.32 eSIM architecture together with Thales and Granite's own patent-pending orchestration layer.

The word doing the work is carrier-direct. These are not roaming arrangements; each profile is a direct connection to that network, which removes the latency penalty and the support ambiguity that come with roaming, and removes the need for separate contracts and billing relationships per carrier. Switching happens remotely through Granite's Enterprise Mobility Management platform, with automated failover when a network suffers an outage, and usage aggregated into a single bill.

Rob Hale, Granite's president and CEO, said SIM360 delivers unprecedented control by bringing all three networks together on one SIM. Guillaume Lafaix, VP of connectivity solutions at Thales, described the work as combining Thales' GSMA-certified eSIM technology with Granite's orchestration capabilities. It is available now for domestic IoT and fixed wireless access deployments.

The target is high-bandwidth IoT and FWA, and that is where the case is strongest. A site using fixed wireless as its primary or backup link is exposed to exactly one carrier's coverage map and exactly one carrier's outage history, and changing that has historically meant a site visit and a new router configuration.

SGP.32 was written for precisely this — IoT devices with no user interface, where profile management has to happen without anyone touching the hardware. This is one of the first deployments that uses it to solve a commercial problem rather than a logistics one.
