Siemens Brings Its Industrial Private 5G to the US and Seven More Countries
Two new radio units — one for the European 3.8 to 4.2 GHz local-industrial band and a US CBRS unit — take the system to 15 countries, with American availability in summer 2026.

Siemens announced on 1 April 2026 that its private 5G infrastructure is expanding to the United States and seven further countries, bringing the total to 15 across Europe and the Americas. Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Norway, Poland and the United Kingdom join a list that already included Austria, Brazil, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland. US availability was confirmed for summer 2026.
The expansion rests on two new radio units. One covers 3.8 to 4.2 GHz, the band several European regulators have set aside for local industrial licensing, and the other is a US-specific unit for CBRS. That pairing is the whole point of the announcement: a private cellular network is only as available as the spectrum a national regulator will let a factory hold, and a vendor cannot sell into a market until it ships a radio for the band that market allocates.
For American manufacturers the practical consequence is that the network can run on their own premises independently of an operator, which changes both the commercial arrangement and who holds the keys to the core.
Two details are worth noting by anyone evaluating the system. It is TÜV-certified for wireless PROFIsafe communication, which matters because safety traffic over wireless is normally the first thing an integrator rules out. And configuration is done through a web dashboard with roughly twenty variables, which is a deliberate answer to the usual objection that private cellular demands telecoms expertise a plant does not have. Siemens has also given its 5G routers edge runtime capability, so applications run on the device rather than requiring a separate box beside it.
Named target sectors are manufacturing, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, intralogistics, heavy industry and crane operations — a list weighted toward moving assets, which is where cellular handover behaviour earns its cost.
